A little bit about me, my name is Susan Hunter. I am married to John Hunter, he built this web site for me and I have one daughter Joanne who has five fantastic kids.
I consider myself as a Yorkshire Lass, although these days my home is in the county of Wiltshire working for the Urgent Care Team which is co-funded by the Wiltshire County Council and the NHS.
I am passionate about nature, animals, human rights, family life and Santa Clause. I believe in miracles, my granddaughter is one, she was given 6 weeks to live and yet she is now at 11. Saying that we live with the knowledge she could leave us any day.
I have a lovely brother, who is still in the north and I miss very much. My hobbies are holidays, recipes, walking and used to also include riding.
I loved walking in Scotland, which was easer to get to when I lived in the North East of England, just a few hours drive and I was there. I will be writing about my passion for Scotland in my Pack Your Bags page.
I really miss working with horses and being around them, I also miss teaching children to ride, I spent many happy hours hacking out with my daughter when she was a little girl across the moors around Swainby.
My love of the dales and fells is also something I shared with my daughter as we went walking most weekends if we were not riding, this would often turn in a huge family event with about 12 of us meeting up and taking picnics with us.
I live in Wiltshire near Salisbury, I have just changed my employment, I have worked for over 11 years for Wiltshire County Council and was outsourced to the NHS to an urgent care team, they have been an amazing bunch of people to work with, real team spirit and I have learnt so much over that time, all of them are true professionals and I like to think of them as friends, I will miss them but it is time for change. I will be working for my daughter employed as Paige’s private carer, her care now is much more involved and as I have all the training it seems wrong that she should not benefit from it, also I will be able to support Joanne more.
Joanne is married to Graham, they are still newly weds as they only married in May, Jo has 5 children, the eldest being Paige who is disabled and the youngest being Summer our baby who is 15 months and a lot of fun..
