Friends Adventure

Although I am filled with some sadness, I am also filled with some envy as our very close friends and neighbours are about to move back to the Isle of Man. We have known Sally and Simon for 18 years they live across the fields from us, we have watched them bring their family into the world and the girls growing up into lovely young ladies, we have shared parties, nights at the pub, suppers at each others houses and for Sally and I even worked together. Both Sally and Simon have always been their for us in times of sorrow and general emergencies, so it is natural that we should feel we are losing some very special people, they are returning to Sally’s birthplace, also most of her family are still in the Isle of Man, it is a huge undertaking, as they have a wonderful home over here but also a great adventure, starting over. I often feel I would love to return to the North and have a new start, there are many things I miss, but I cannot leave my daughter and my beautiful brood of grandchildren, and Salisbury is a rather nice place to be.

Our new baby Ben is doing very well, in fact all the children at the moment are fit and well, we are ticking by as normal, poor John however is on a diet which is driving me nuts as it is me who has to come up with the calories controlled menus he can eat during the week. What makes it even harder is I am very much a cream and butter cook, so to suddenly have to start thinking lentils and low fat sprays is to say the least a challenge, but it will be interesting as I start to put up some of the new recipes on the site. For all the people asking me John is still on crutches he is doing very well but I feel it will be a good while yet, thank you for all the good wishes he has received. xxx
