Grab A Bargin This Weekend

Jane Macquitty is the wine critic for the times, she is down to earth and often points me to some real winners, every couple of months she does a round up of what is in the super markets, on Saturday she published 30 best white wines for under a fiver next Saturday she is doing reds so I will of course keep you posted. I felt I could only put in the wines I have tried also it would be impossible for me to put in the full 30 so I have put together a short selection for you, the other thing is that some of these are on offer and that may end very soon so look at the dates beside the wine.

Champteloup Touraine Sauvignon Blanc in Waitrose at £4.99 till Monday when it goes back to £7 often called paupers Sancerre but I feel this is as good as wine 3 times it’s price, I bought mine today.

Listed as a best bargain buy is a wine from Asda Marsanne Vin de Pays dOc a full white with strong apricot and almonds cutting through at an amazing £3 per bottle.

Sainsbury’s which I shall be hitting on Saturday to pick a few bottles of this Kiwi Cuvee Sauvignon Blanc down to £3.99 till Monday when it goes up £2.

Tesco have on offer a wine I would not normally look at but this is now so improved that I will be buying some of this Italian wine, Soave Classico for £4.08

From South Africa a real treat the master of Chenin Blanc Ken Forrester we have his Taste the difference Western Cape Chenin Blanc at Sainsbury’s till April 13 for £4.65 which is down by £2.34 so pick up a couple of those they won’t let you down.

I will bring you a reds collection next week, happy drinking.
