At the moment there are some really good offers around if you fancy taking the kids for a weekend away without breaking the bank.
We have used Novotel so I can speak from experience, we stayed in there Nottingham hotel for one night, myself, my husband and 2 of our grandchildren, we booked online and got the family room with breakfast for four for £59, as we checked in the children were give little bags with a small cuddly animal and a packet of crayons in each bag so they instantly liked the place. In our room which was very nice, modern, clean and spacious we had a large double and two full sized singles which had pulled out from the built in sofa, unlike some travel lodges these beds were good enough for adults to sleep on, we also had a good sized television and tea and coffee tray.
There was a very good restaurant that made the children so welcome, we had a great time.
To keep the costs down I would suggest using tesco vouchers for say pizza hut rather than paying the hotel prices, but if you do not want to drive the food was not badly priced.
