I was livid to read about the MP,s that are refusing to pay back expenses claimed that should not have been passed, we would not get away with that. I was thinking about all the families that had over payments on the families tax credits that had been no fault of their own, they have no choice in it the money is deducted straight way from them, and yet the MP,s who do not have the same financial problems as those on benefits are saying they feel they should not pay the money back, to me the claims made are almost fraudulent and some people are lucky they are not facing court let alone told to pay money back.
Get your hands in your pockets and pay the tax payer back, you are destroying your own credibility, I also came across an article in to-days paper that said a Judge had ruled against the department of works and pensions claiming back benefits paid out in error some were housing benefits as well as incapacity benefit and other benefits, he stated that it was not the peoples fault and that it would cause hardship and distress to some of societies most vulnerable people. Well done the appeal court for having the common sense to see that the innocent really need protecting but I am afraid there was nothing innocent about the MP,s claims.
