How do you all feel about the headlines at the moment? I feel very uneasy about the future, every-time I am talking to friends they seem to be telling me about more people laid off or businesses closing, then when you read the paper it just echo’s what I have been told.
As I drove to work I heard a song on the radio, it said it all, I have lost my job but not my pride, then it went on to say that although he had no work they were doing things together they had not done in years, drinking cheap wine and watching movies till 3.00am, they were seeing each other for the first time in years. I can really understand this, because 18months ago when John was laid off, it felt like our world was ending then I became very ill with pneumonia, he was at home with me, he sat up every night watching movies with me and just talking, he could not have done this if he had been working and I would have had to go into hospital, we became closer than we had been in years, it was very hard for him, as he felt he was letting me down by not having a job, but when the world is so upside down, the only important thing is to try and just ride the storms together, and care for each other. The song I was listening too was called The First Time by the Script.
We may face those times again as John’s contract ends on Friday but we will stand together and hold our heads high.
