Caution Bubble Wrap Arm

Yesterday I learnt something new about myself, I picked some very pretty lilies from the garden, cut them with long stalks for tall vases, one of them would not cut so I twisted the woody type bark and broke it off, later that night my arm felt as though it was burning and strange, I looked down at it to see my arm now looked as though it had been wrapped in bubble wrap. These strange little swellings started at my fingers and went to the top of my shoulder and it took several hours of working out what I had done, it turns out that the sap from the lillies can be poisonoussap to some people, trust me to be one of them, so Iwill be taking piriton for the next week to make sure it leaves my system.

Today was Paige’s swim day again, this time Joanne and I and baby Summer took her, including one strange looking arm, we had a lovely time Paige enjoyed Mum been there as well as her little sister, who Paige adore’s, it was a fun time and Paige worked hard but also got tied quickly today. I felt very sorry that Joanne had to come we could not get the other carer to help today as she was busy so Jo said not a problem I will come, but really it is one more thing for Joanne to try and fit into her very hectic week she had already had a 2 hour meeting with social services this morning and could have done with a quite afternoon. Saying that I also believe she enjoyed the time with Paige, but the next part of our adventure took place in the disabled changing room, we had showered Paige and the baby, Jo said she would have a quick shower next while I dressed Paige, the shower is that of the wet room style with just a small curtain around it, as I was drying Paige I suddenly felt myself getting very wet and became aware of water being sprayed around the changing room, Joanne had dropped the shower and it is a power shower so it was hurtling around the floor, water shooting into the air covering everything. Paige could do nothing but laugh, Joanne did the same when she saw how wet my tee shirt and shorts were it looked as though I had got out of the swimming pool fully dressed, all I can say is thank goodness it was a wonderful 32 degrees outside and I steamed nicely on my way home with some strange glances from passer’s by. A real funny afternoon.
