Easter Had It’s Surprises

i don't care if it rain's

Easter was not quite how I planned it this year, we had a few hiccups but we still had a lovely time.

Good Friday, not sure anyone could really call it good as the weather was dreadful, lashing rain, not just a shower, I am talking about rain that causes floods, but did that stop us having our scavenger hunt, no, but it did take the excitement of it away, also poor Graham could not come along as he had gone down with a stomach bug. We did our hunt and arrived at the pub like eleven drowned rats, but as a back up plan I had packed colouring sets and pencils so the children then got down to a colouring contest that kept them happy.

Saturday which was a fine dry day we had planned to take the children to an indoor play center in Gosport so they could burn up some energy, which they loved but I just wished we had done the scavenger hunt that day, but they all had lots of fun and I was getting to spend some time with my brother.

Sunday we thought would be good to take in a garden center and also an aquatics center we know, we set out and had a lovely ride into the countryside and got to Porton to see signs on the gate we open bank holidays but not Easter Sunday, so of we went to the garden center same thing happened so we gave up came home I put together a plough-mans lunch then it was walking boots on and out into the sunshine we walked for about 5 miles around our local woods and villages which my brother and wife loved and I also really enjoyed just getting out.

Bank Holiday Monday this was going to be another big family gathering day, everyone coming to me for lunch then the kids playing in the fields while we all got to have coffee and a chat, well disaster struck early hours of Monday morning I started being sick and so it went till Monday was nearly over, it meant my brother and family had to sort them selves out, luckily my daughter stepped in and said she would do lunch for them there, which she did, and everyone is still saying how good it was, the children all had a great time and they went out to walk along the river side and the kids got to play in the park, the sad thing for me was I knew my brother was leaving and I could not spend my last day with him and his family but I am so pleased that at least they had a fun time. next year I think I will keep my plans more flexible.

I hope everyone had a good Easter and for those of you who are thinking Susie must have made her self sick on all that chocolate, I can only say I would have felt a lot better by now if it had been over eating, never mind I will look forward to the next family gathering.
