Ethical Times

Reading the papers this week I have moved between periods of disbelief and total dismay, I came across a professor who had been suspended from the university because he was inciting a violent march in London against the bankers, in fact he had the slogan behind him “Hang a banker” and the image of a man hanging from a lamp post. I believe in free speech, freedom of thought and the right to demonstrate but I do not believe that someone charged with the responsibility of shaping young minds, being a mentor and someone to look up to should behave in this way, he did say in an interview that the march would be non violent, but with images like that, many would take it the wrong way. I think it is time this gentleman examined his ethics.

I agree the bankers along with the government have a lot to answer for, I also agree we should be letting them know how we feel, this brings me to the point of the G20 conference that has been going on, did anyone notice how much this is costing us the tax payer, as we struggle to pay the rent and meet bills, the Politian’s are sitting down to banquets. My answer would be a quick sandwich buffet and back to work thank you, you are here to save nations not bankrupt them entirely.

The violent photos that relates to this event really made me sad, yes a demonstration was appropriate but those thugs, we need to lock them up and throw away the key. It is time government started listening to its people, let’s get Politian’s on proper salaries like the rest of us and do away with these outrageous expense accounts then maybe they will earn some respect for the work they do.
