Fondest Memories Of A Happy Past

John and I have been on a mission to de-clutter and clear out our loft. While doing so we came across the old projector and family movies.

We sat up until well after 3 am on a Sunday morning watching these old movies. They all felt a full lifetime away, they made me sad, they they made me happy, but they also made me think of how many wonderful times I had had. It was on that note that I decided I would share these times from the good old 70’s with you all.

My fashion sense still has not changed and as my daughter said, ” Mum you haven’t changed at all!” She did not mean I have stayed 19 – 20, we cannot hide the signs of time, but the essence of who we are is still alive and strong.

The movies are from a time when I was still with my ex-husband, I still love to this day, but not in the same way. We are still good friends and the share the love with our daughter.

I am very fortunate to be able to say that I have really loved 2 men in my lifetime, my husband John and my ex-husband Glyn. My brother is there as a young 16 year old, I adore him even more as we get older. The sad parts are watching those loved ones who are no longer with us;my sister Carolyn, she was so special to me and I don’t think she ever knew, she lost her battle with cancer at the age of 40; My mum sh lost her life at the age of 57, my dad died at the age of 42 and my mum was left to bring us up. Life was hard for her, she was an amazing loving. gentle person.

Glyn’s parents play a big part of our movies, they were very good, loving parents and really good to me. I could not have wished for a better mother-in-law, all these people are missed so dearly and I cannot deny that I shared wonderful times with them. What they left behind was the strongest bonds of family love.

Till we meet again…

I hope that you watch these and think of your own past and maybe a host of wonderful memories.
