Today Monday 22nd June was a very nice day, as I had a day off but also it was Imogen’s 10th birthday, so most of the day was taken up creating a special cake for her birthday tea. She is very much a strawberries and cream girl I made her cake to that order, I truly believe she would have forgone the present just to eat the cake, she was delighted and won approval from the rest of the party as well.
The memories came flooding back of Joanne’s tenth birthday, as she was the only child there was no expense spared at her birthday parties and I always hired in some form of entertainment, but that year I got it wrong when I booked a huge Care bear, sunshine bear to make an appearance and play games with them, Joanne was mortified when she answered the door to the giant bear and all her friends fell about laughing, she has never let me forget it, and she did not make the same mistake for Imogen, her treat was a trip to the cinema with friends, so much more grown up, shame they have to grow up.
