Help We Are Lost!

Bank Holiday 25th May, we had such a busy weekend, with the party and then seeing people on the Sunday that by the Monday we all felt the need to just relax. My Brother did not feel like driving anywhere as he was facing a 5 hour drive back to the north the next day. My suggestion was that I take them on a walk straight from the farm up to some woods and back round, as the weather was wonderful everyone agreed, even John who is not known for his fondness of walking decided to come.

All set, boots on map in hand and of course my lipstick! they all followed there intrepid guide off down our beautiful lanes. it was all going so well till we emerged at a field that showed no signs of public footpaths anywhere and when we turned around the direction we had come from had signs up saying no admittance MOD. At this point suddenly their fingers aimed at me stating I did not have a clue where we going, I had to admit that my map reading skills are not my best asset. We decided that we had no choice but had to go back onto MOD land and retrace our steps which we did, very quietly in case we got arrested.

We then made the decision that as we were nearly in the village we would walk to the pub and have a light lunch, which was really nice, although everyone else looked slightly smarter than we did. John had now got hold of the map and said he knew a good way to take us back, through some woods and across the ridge down to home. We now all felt quite jolly, I put it down to the sun nothing to do with the drinks consumed in the pub.

We were probably the noisest ramblers out that day, and what set out to be a short walk turned into 6 wonderful fun filled miles, we all agreed it was a special day. Oh must give John the credit, he got us home.
