Romance In The Air

This has been a quite but very special weekend, John came home Friday evening after been away all week carrying a dozen roses, a bottle of good champagne and a box of Thornatons chocolates so that has been a good start to our weekend. Saturday we headed into town to buy the things we needed to cook our special meal on Sunday, we went into M&S to see people swamping around two isles so needless to say we had to have a look, it was a special offer of a valentine meal for two for £20 which included wine, starter, main course, wicked desserts and a small box of chocolates so we decided to try it for Saturday evening, and I must say if we had that meal in a restaurant we would be very pleased it was excellent, we started with deep fried camembert on a bed of leaves with apple chutney followed by rack of lamb crusted in pesto and pine nuts served with baby veg in parsley butter and for pudding we had 3 tier chocolate mousse with chocolate hearts it was wonderful, the only thing you had to do was put things in the oven and then serve it. I am now worried that the meal this evening which involves lots of effort is going to be as good so it is fingers crossed.

I have enjoyed being in our home this valentine’s as I dressed the table the way I knew we would like it, and simply enjoyed not rushing around but just spending time together chatting, eating and drinking without the huge bills that normally follow, the romance part of things comes in the form of just simply trying to make things that extra bit special for each other, scented candles, dressing for dinner and soft background music made things very magical, I hope we never lose that spark that wants to make us keep trying for each other, we want to wish you all a thoughtful and loving valentine’s day.
