Susie’s Tools

Hi guys, this is not a real post as such, but a response to comments asking about what I cook with and thought that it may help if I list them here. Of course prices change all the time, and dependent on where you live so it is difficult to to provide pricing. And although I am not endorsing Amazon, it is a global company and most of the products that I have purchased have came from Amazon, as I work close to 70 hours a week and, my husband is doing about 50, plus the little jobs I give him 🙂 This is not sponsored by anyone, it is just what I use.

Ninja Foodi Air Fryer [AF300UK], Dual Zone, 7.6 Litre, Black

I love this little cooker, it makes the best roast chicken and it is my go to product. No more waiting for the oven to warm up, although since I bought it I wish that I had the larger version, which I believe came out after, but most of the time there is only two of us and it is fantastic.

2PCS Silicone Pot for Ninjas Dual Air Fryer, Reusable Silicone Air Fryer Liner, Double Air Fryer Silicone Air Fryer Basket BPA Free Air Fryer Rack Accessories for Air Fryer, Oven, and Microwave (Grey)

These we found on Amazon, they have proved extremely useful and saved me from having a lot of burns. Like a lot of people we tend to turn to YouTube, to see how other people do things and to help make our choices of which direction we take. For example I follow the Butlersempire they are very down to earth people, and one of their little tricks was to place tin foil strips under cooking dishes to help you lift out your very hot dishes from the air fryer. Now I use these little silicone pots, which just go in the dish washer. I didn’t like them at first as when they went in the dishwasher they remained web, but one of my subscribers, sorry the name escapes me at the moment, he told me to just turn them inside out. This worked for me and I have never looked back.

I have been requested to provide a link for these on Amazon, click here to go to Amazon

Igluu Meal Prep Glass Containers [5 PACK + EXTRA lid] – Glass Food Storage, Microwave, Oven, Freezer & Dishwasher-safe – Airtight Meal Prep Boxes with Snap Lock Steam Vent Lids, BPA-Free (840ml 28oz)

We love these dishes as they tick all the boxes for us, especially if we make more than one batch as once they are cooled down, you just put the lid on it and freeze.

Ooni Karu 12″ Multi-Fuel Pizza Oven

I can’t tell you how much pizza we have ate since we bought this. We used to buy the Pizza Express pizzas and loved them, now they taste more like cardboard with a nice topping, it has turned me into a pizza snob lol. When we bought this we liked the fact that it had the option to cook with different fuels. I was all about cooking with wood and getting that wood-fired pizza taste. The initial adventure was not smooth, not only did we struggle to make a good pizza dough, but with the stress of keeping the fire going and making the pizza raised more than just the temperature of the oven. John, eventually got his way and we purchased the add on gas attachment, which took an age to get, but the noticeable effect was that we stopped fighting. The oven stayed hot, leaving us to just concentrate on the pizza. We have tried going back to wood, but the extra work that is required no longer appeals. Once the gas runs out as I am sure that it will do shortly we always have the option to go back to it. Since we purchased this one there is now a larger version.

Homemade Pizza

Ooni also sell a modular table to stand your pizza oven on, it is not cheap, but when we looked at other options, we decided to purchase it. We found an outside cover in B&Q thaw we could slip over and it has been great and it has done a brilliant job of protecting our table, although we never leave the ooni out there, it is light enough to pack away and bring in.

KitchenAid Artisan Mixer 4.8L Empire Red

Buying the pizza oven had the knock on effect of us purchasing the KitchenAid Mixer, as needing the pizza dough for 10 or so minutes was hard work and this is such a marvellous device, although I wish that I could have purchased the larger model, this has made my life easier.

Kamado Joe JR

When summer arrived we decided to get the barbecue out. Our old one was cheap and cheerful, but the years had not been kind to us. We use to love the watch the Great British Menu and we noticed that a lot of the top chefs were using the Green Egg Kamado. We saw them in Waitrose, but they are not cheep, so we turned to YouTube to look at what the pros and cons of the the different versions. We would have loved the large Kamado, but we could neither afford it, or judging by how heavy the junior is, I very much doubt that we could even lift it.

Sage Oracle Touch Fully Automatic Bean-to-Cup Coffee Machine, Brushed Stainless Steel

This is an amazing coffee maker, and we have it thanks to John’s parents giving us the money towards getting this. Check out the Espresso Martini recipe.

The post is getting a bit long, but if you want me to tell you more about any of these, please let me know.

One last thing before I go. I have been asked where did I get my glass dessert dishes, they of course came from Amazon Follow the link or do search for Bormioli Rocco Ypsilon Dessert Food Dinner Bowls.
