Who Do We Vote For?

Sat in the wonderful spring sunshine today reading the daily papers I realized that each paper is giving a different take on the forth coming election, does this come as a surprise, no not really, I like to think that I do keep myself informed enough to know what is going on and from that try and make an informed choice. Yet to those voting for the first time they may simply take what one paper says as gospel, that brought me to the realization it really is a mine field out their, questions like do we trust any of them spring to mind, what happens if we all stay home and don’t vote, would we then have chaos or would it just go on as it has? Watching the television debates just made me think we are schooling actors not politicians, people are judging them on their body language, how they perform in front of the cameras, well sorry I think I would prefer to have them all take lie detector tests, I suppose that is too radical.

My vote alone will not make any difference but if I feel this way, how many others feel the same, and why this time does it feel so important, maybe it is because I feel so many things now are wrong with this country, it is time for change but I am not convinced that any of them can offer us the true way forward, maybe the answer is that I stand for election, but I somehow think I would not be there very long as I feel their is no room in politics for really honest people.

On a happier note I am looking forward to a wonderful sunny weekend with my grandsons and Paigey, so hope you all get out there and have some fun, also a big hello to Mike and Sally in Hong Kong see you soon guys. xxx
