Our Wedding Anniversary Trip

Cardiff was so much more than I could have hoped for, what a wonderful city, also the people are really friendly, we felt welcomed every where we went.

We stayed at Cardiff Novotel which have a great position between the city center and the bay, 5 minutes walk to the best shops I have seen in ages and then 15 minutes walk the other direction and you are at the bay, which is a very cool place, full of amazing yachts and classy restaurants.

Our first surprise when we got to the hotel was to be told we had been upgraded to the Terrace Suite which is their wedding suite as they knew it was our anniversary, next it was to be told we could leave our car their and even if we pulled out very late the next day they would only charge us one nights parking, and our third treat was to be told we could keep our suite for a late check out next day which was till 5.00pm at no extra cost. All I can say is thank you Novotel you made our weekend very special. They also had a wonderful pool, good gym, and lovely sauna and steam room, altogether a great hotel and cannot wait to go back.

We shopped till we dropped we ate in Carluccio’s on Saturday lunch time, then we ate at Mimosa on Saturday night down in the bay area, which was in full party mode, wehad a wonderful romantic meal, then next day to finish things off we had lunch in Jamie Olivers Italian and that was amazing, you could say we ate our way around Cardiff.

We have to go back as we did not get enough time to do all the things we wanted to, we felt safe, and very happy in this clean quite new city, or I should say new in places, as some of it has great history behind it, but the regeneration of it has made it a really vibrant fun place to go.

Next weekend we are going to Pembrokeshire not a city break but a small seaside village so that should be quite a contrast I have my fingers crossed for some good weather.
